Since 1991, future generations of Lake Protectors have begun their protection journeys on board the LGA’s Floating Classroom.
In your fun-and fact-filled cruise, you’ll measure water clarity, catch zooplankton, investigate other water quality parameters-and return to shore with a whole new understanding of what it takes to keep Lake George clear and clean.
The program is two hours long. The Floating Classroom will set sail from the dock at the end of Lower Amherst Street. Check-in at the dock 15 minutes prior to your ticketed program time on the day of your trip. I am suggesting you arrive at 9:30am to have plenty of time to find parking, and figure out the meters. There is one handicap parking space at the bottom of Amherst st. The Meter is near the bottom. I will be there to assist as needed.
There is no designated parking for the program. The electronic meters in the Village are $2 an hour. Please Note: It is advised to download the ParkMobile app before coming to the Village. When the Village is busy the cellular signal/WiFi drops, and connecting and downloading can be very difficult.
Grandchildren are welcome and encouraged to join you!
There are no bathrooms on the boat.
Registration is required. Fee of $20.00 per person is due to The Conkling Center by Aug. 11th.
