From Country Lane to National Fame

Presentation

There are historical figures throughout the USA who received their education or taught in a one room schoolhouse.  Most people are familiar with the educational roots of well-known National historical figures like: Abraham Lincoln, John Adams, Sam Houston, Henry Ford as well as others.

In this presentation the Proutys will highlight some National figures that received their education or taught in early one room schools in Washington County, NY.   Many of the school buildings remain today and will be featured in the program.
