Docent Lead tour (Pat Vaughn) of the Hyde’s newest and premiere Summer exhibition- Songs of the Horizon: David Smith, Music, and Dance. David Smith is regarded as one of the most innovative sculptors of the 20th Century. Smith’s roots grow deep in the Adirondack region of Bolton Landing and Glens Falls. His works reflect the influence pioneering music, modern dance and nature played on his artistry. This exhibition will feature Smith’s sculpture Boaz Dancing School (1945) which will be only the second time in eighty years it has been available for public view.
